Okay, so there’s no top secret formula to easily building an online business or gaining a ton of traffic overnight. But if there was one thing that I could name that would help you steadily increase the number of visitors, search engine ranking, and the number of purchases on your business website, it would be this… build a blog!
Seriously. And it’s especially appropriate that we’re chatting about it, as I’m just ramping up production here on my business blog.
Blogs are an incredible way to connect with your audience and create a community of individuals that are pulled together for a purpose that they are passionate about. Plus, building a blog from scratch is a great way to establish the voice of your brand and organize your thoughts as you learn and grow your business skills!
While it might seem like social media will get you more engagement (And I definitely do recommend sharing all the socials), your website, blog, and email newsletter are the only platforms you really own. Anything else can be deleted, removed, or hidden from another platform at any time.
When you create a community on your own site, as you do when building a high-traffic blog, you own the content AND the platform. That is some powerful stuff!
Here at LindZen Labs, I thought it might be fun to do a little series on how to build a blog for your business, and you can follow along as I build my business blog.
It will be a business blueprint series on building a blog from scratch with either WordPress or Shopify.
